1 Inch Pipe Bending Machine — DWCNC50

The DWCNC50 is a CNC automatic 1 inch pipe bending machine rated to Ø50 × 3 mm in carbon steel. One-inch NPS pipe has an outside diameter of 33.4 mm, and at that size the machine covers every schedule from Sch 10 through Sch 160 at half its rated load or less.

That headroom is the point. Small-diameter machines rated at exactly 1 inch are usually limited to thin wall, which rules out Schedule 40 — the most commonly specified 1 inch pipe there is. Rating the machine to Ø50 gives full schedule coverage with margin for 1¼ inch as well.

Capacity on 1 Inch Pipe

1″ schedule Wall Carbon steel
Sch 10 2.77 mm Yes, large margin
Sch 40 / STD 3.38 mm Yes
Sch 80 / XS 4.55 mm Yes
Sch 160 6.35 mm Yes

Maximum centreline bend radius is 250 mm — about 7.5D on 1 inch pipe, well beyond the 3D to 5D radii used in most work. Minimum radius is [n] mm with mandrel tooling.

The machine also runs 1¼ inch Schedule 40. Above that, 1½ inch Schedule 40 exceeds the rating — that size belongs on the DWCNC89.

The Fastest Cycle in the Range

Bend speed is 60°/sec against 45°/sec on the larger models, with feed to 1,000 mm/sec and rotation to 250°/sec. Small sections mean less mass to accelerate and less oil to move, and the cycle time reflects it.

Feed length and rotation plane are servo-driven to ±0.1 mm and ±0.1°, running from the stored program with no operator repositioning between bends. The control holds 500 part programs with up to 30 bends each, which is enough to keep a mixed-model schedule loaded without reprogramming between batches.

For one-inch work that usually matters more than raw capacity. These are high-volume parts where unit cost is set by throughput and consistency, not by the value of the material being bent.

Footprint and Running Costs

Total connected load is 7.1 kW and the machine weighs 1.8 tonnes at 4,500 × 1,200 × 1,400 mm. It positions with a forklift — no overhead crane required — and fits workshops where a 6 or 8 metre machine would not.

If 1 inch to 1¼ inch is your working range, there is no reason to buy and power a machine built for 3 or 4 inch pipe.

Applications

Plant and building services. Compressed air, water, gas and sprinkler lines in ½ inch to 1¼ inch pipe.

Hydraulics and pneumatics. Rigid tube runs on machinery and mobile equipment, routed around structure.

Furniture and shop fittings. Chair and table frames, shelving, display racks, clothing rails.

Fitness and leisure equipment. Gym frames, handlebars, playground and garden furniture.

Architectural. Handrails, balustrades, gates, fencing, greenhouse frames.

Tooling, Installation and Support

One complete die set for your specified OD and radius — bend die, clamp die, pressure die, wiper die and mandrel, with rod and linkage. Die sets are size-specific, so tell us every OD and radius you plan to run and we will quote the full package rather than the machine alone.

Installation and operator training are available on site or remotely by video call. Wear items — mandrel balls, wiper dies, seals and hydraulic filters — ship from stock. Warranty is [n] months on the machine and [n] months on the control system.

Frequently Asked Questions

What diameter is 1 inch pipe?

33.4 mm outside diameter, regardless of schedule. Only the wall thickness changes, and it is diameter combined with wall that determines bending force.

The machine is rated Ø50 × 3 mm — can it really bend 1 inch Schedule 160 at 6.35 mm wall?

Yes in carbon steel. Capacity ratings state the largest diameter at a given wall, and bending force scales with the section of the pipe. At 33.4 mm diameter, Schedule 160 sits at roughly three-quarters of the machine’s rating.

What is the largest size this machine handles?

1¼ inch Schedule 40 is within range. 1½ inch Schedule 40 exceeds the rating — that job needs the DWCNC89. We would rather say so now than after the order.

Can it bend stainless steel?

Yes. Stainless work-hardens during bending and needs more force than carbon steel at the same section, but at 1 inch the margin is wide enough to absorb it through Schedule 80. Send your grade for Schedule 160 stainless.

Can it bend square and rectangular tube?

Yes, with section-specific tooling. Send the profile dimensions, wall and required radius with your enquiry.

What is the tightest radius achievable on 1 inch pipe?

[n] mm centreline with mandrel tooling and correct wiper die setup, on suitable wall thicknesses.

How long is delivery?

Standard lead time is [n] working days after deposit and tooling confirmation.

Send your pipe OD, schedule, material grade, required bend radius and annual volume, and we will quote within 24 hours.
