6 Inch Pipe Bending Machine — DWCNC168
The DWCNC168 is a CNC automatic 6 inch pipe bending machine rated to Ø168 × 8 mm in carbon steel. Six-inch NPS pipe has an outside diameter of 168.3 mm, so this machine covers 6 inch pipe through Schedule 40, along with every smaller size with the matching die set.
Feed and rotation are servo-driven and programmed to ±0.1 mm and ±0.1°. The bend axis runs on a hydraulic cylinder with speed adjustable to 45°/sec, which is what delivers the force needed to move 8 mm wall at this diameter.
Capacity on 6 Inch Pipe
| 6″ schedule | Wall | Within rating |
| Sch 10 | 3.40 mm | Yes |
| Sch 40 / STD | 7.11 mm | Yes |
| Sch 80 / XS | 10.97 mm | Larger model required |
Maximum centreline bend radius is 700 mm — approximately 4D on 6 inch pipe. Minimum radius is [n] mm with mandrel tooling. Radii above 4D are outside rotary draw range and call for induction or roll bending.

Capacity is stated for carbon steel. Stainless and high-strength alloys work-harden during bending and reduce the maximum wall — send your material grade with your enquiry.
Why CNC Control Matters at This Size
On a 6 inch pipe bending machine the payoff from automation is not cycle time — the parts are heavy and handling dominates. It is scrap.
A 6-metre length of Schedule 40 pipe is expensive, and one indexing error on the fourth bend of a multi-bend spool writes off the whole piece. Programmed feed length and rotation plane remove that error source. The control stores 500 part programs with up to 30 bends each, and the 4,500 mm feeding stroke with 6,500 mm mandrel length runs standard 6-metre pipe without pre-cutting.
Applications
Oil, gas and petrochemical. Process pipework, pipe spools, flowlines and skid assemblies.
Boiler and pressure vessel. Header and manifold bends, water wall tubing, economiser coils.
Shipbuilding and offshore. Ballast, fuel and cooling runs routed around structure.
Construction and infrastructure. Structural handrails, balustrades, scaffolding, lighting and sign poles, machinery frames.
Tooling, Installation and Support
One complete die set for your specified OD and radius — bend die, clamp die, pressure die, wiper die and mandrel, with rod and linkage. Tooling at 6 inch size is a significant line item, so tell us every OD and radius you plan to run and we will quote the full package rather than the machine alone.
The machine is 8.5 m long and weighs 13 tonnes, and needs clear run-out at both ends for full-length pipe. Confirm floor loading and crane capacity before shipment. Installation and operator training are available on site or remotely; wear items ship from stock. Warranty is [n] months on the machine and [n] months on the control system.
Frequently Asked Questions
What diameter is 6 inch pipe?
168.3 mm outside diameter, regardless of schedule. Only the wall thickness changes between schedules.
Will this 6 inch pipe bending machine handle Schedule 80?
No. 6 inch Sch 80 is 10.97 mm wall, above the 8 mm rating. Ask us about the larger models in the series.
What is the tightest radius achievable on 6 inch pipe?
[n] mm centreline with mandrel tooling and correct wiper die setup, on suitable wall thicknesses.
Can it bend smaller pipe sizes?
Yes, down to [n] mm with the appropriate die set — 4 inch and 5 inch pipe are common on this machine.
How long is delivery?
Standard lead time is [n] working days after deposit and tooling confirmation.
Send your pipe OD, schedule, material grade, required bend radius and annual volume, and we will quote within 24 hours.
